1979	Feb	Iranian Revolution. Second Oil crisis
1980	Apr	Japan-Saudi joint venture feasibility study began
1980	Sep	Iran-Iraq War broke out
1981	May	Company reorganized as an Investment company and renamed SPDC Ltd.
	May	Japanese Government decided to provide 45% of SPDC's capital through the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (presently Japan international Cooperation Agency)
